At Enjoy Compare, we’re interested in what credit cards our top financial institutions are offering, as well as the best value loans and financial deals that make all of our lives easier. What SBR found was a banking industry that moving faster than before in a market that’s never been more competitive. Operating in a generally affluent society that shrugged off the global financial downturn far better than most, new products are appearing all the time from virtual credit cards and increased consumer protection.
So, are you getting the best deals for your money and your credit card?
According to the Business Review’s chart, the number one remains Citi. Citibank is the government’s preferred choice for its workers’ credit cards, so they’re certainly doing something right. The US-backed bank certainly knows its target demographic, and examples such as its Clear Platinum Card – a premium card that offers points at night spot, as well as a flexible payment plan – is aimed squarely at the younger market.
Year-on-year, Citibank say, credit card spend on ecommerce has increased by 36% in Singapore, and they’re actively targeting markets that prefer to use their cards online, so expect to see deals intended for the online buyer. In second place are UOB/American Express. They too note the boom in online commerce, and make it easier for Singapore card members to buy services from websites off-island, particularly in the US.
Third in Singapore’s top twenty are DBS. They’ve been particularly active in technology, and claim to be number one for mobile banking services, with approaching half a million mobile banking customers. They’ve also unveiled a two-in-one device that is both a credit card and a personal security token. Anything to make the customer’s life simpler.
The best way to find if you’re getting the best deal from your bank or credit card is to visit our site and see for yourself. We’ve got all the top cards listed, along with their latest deals. Making the switch couldn’t be easier.
